Animal friendly beauty products/ Productos de belleza no testados en animales

Last Friday, I had a spa day at home because my body and mind really needed it. Tomorrow, I’ll be starting university, and I’m feeling a bit nervous since everything is new. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to relax and pamper myself. I also found a "healthy" way to use cosmetics. In this post, I’ll share some animal-friendly beauty products with you.

It’s always better to soak your body in a nice bubble bath for at least 15 minutes with candles around to really unwind before starting your day. Unfortunately, I don’t have a bath at my parent's flat, so I swapped it for a refreshing shower with essential oils. You can use lavender essential oil for a relaxing feeling, or orange or any citrus essential oil to boost your energy. Light some candles, and let yourself be enveloped in the fragrance.

Step 1 and 2

Before the bubble bath or shower, apply a scrub. In this case, I’m using the Himalaya collection from Rituals (100% animal-friendly). The scrub is made with sweet almond oil and Indian rose. It’s a purifying scrub that works deeply to cleanse your skin.

After the bath or shower, apply body cream. Again, I’m using the Himalaya collection. It’s made with Indian rose and Himalaya honey, and it has a very smooth texture that’s rich and nourishing for your skin.

During the shower, use the soap shown in the picture from step number 5.

Step 3

Let’s clean the face! It might sound strange to clean your face after the shower, but it’s actually the best way to eliminate all the impurities. Otherwise, the impurities from your hair and body will transfer to your face.

The first step is to remove any makeup, if you’re wearing it. After you’ve removed your makeup, clean your face with a creamy wash. In my case, I’m using the Tea Tree collection from The Body Shop. This collection is perfect for people who have spots or blemishes. The Cool & Creamy Wash will cleanse your face, leaving it spotless without over-drying. It’s completely organic and animal-friendly. Apply it like a soap, then rinse with water.

As you can see, I’ve placed the cream in the picture, but we will use it after the face mask. Normally, if you’re using these products daily, you can apply the Skin Clearing Lotion after the Cool & Creamy Wash. When I’m not doing a full spa routine, I use both products in my morning routine because they give me a fresh, menthol sensation that helps me feel awake.

Step 4

After cleaning your face, apply a face mask and relax for 20 minutes. You’ve probably noticed that this face mask is different from the one in the cover picture. That’s because I want to explain the benefits of each. Both masks are from Montagne Jeunesse, and they’re available for just €1.79, offering great quality. The same brand also has products for hair and feet, as shown in the top picture. All of their products are animal-friendly and vegetarian.

As for the face masks, both are detoxifying. The first one (from the cover picture) targets blackheads, while the one in the top picture helps detoxify oils and impurities. Both masks have a peeling effect.

While you’re waiting for the face mask to work, you can soak your feet in warm water mixed with the foot soap from the top picture. The grapefruit fragrance will help eliminate any bad odors. After soaking your feet for about 10 minutes, apply the foot lotion. The menthol fragrance will relax your feet.

Once the 20 minutes are up, remove the face mask with warm water and a facial sponge.

Step 5

This is the soap I used, and I highly recommend you try it in the shower or bath. It’s from the Himalaya collection by Rituals. This yogi flow soap has a beautiful fragrance of Indian rose and sweet almond oil. It provides a foaming shower gel sensation.

After your spa routine, perfume your body with a non-alcoholic fragrance. I used this one from Rituals as well—it's chakra water with the same fragrance as the other Himalaya products. I also recommend a non-alcoholic fragrance with a rose scent for a soothing touch.

This ritual will help you feel pampered and relaxed. Try to repeat the experience once a week, and you'll feel rejuvenated. It worked wonders for me—I was feeling nervous at the start, but by the end, I was able to listen to my inner self. It’s best to choose the weekend for your home spa so that you can release all the negative energy from the week and prepare yourself to start a fresh, new one.

In conclusion, a home spa is a great way to relax and listen to the needs of your body.
